Stretching the bounds of practicality is the name of the game right now. With everyone groaning about the economy it's difficult not to feel guilty purchasing your lovelies. This is where the vast options of the internets can help whittle down your wish list!
In the epic quest for the perfect footwear, I came across the new line of
DeathStar Original Adidas. A statement, indeed. Some of these shoes will be coveted by throwback nerds(like myself!) and tossed about on eBay for years to come. The clothing....ehh, not so much.
Right now my primary shoe concerns are:
1. Boots. To get me through the rest of the season(we've already had close to 2ft of snow!), looking great with tights, and I've always been a stompin' kind of girl :)
2. Fit/Comfort. I try to keep a cheery face about online shoe ordering, since I have shapely feet with a
wide instep(read bunion). Check the shipping and return policies before you even see something you want. Check out
Big Black Boots for no-nonsense measurement/conversion instructions.
3. Of course Price and Sustainability! Taking the 5-10 minutes to price check, look for online coupons/promos, and branding. It really is that fast, really!

As far as looks and fit alone, these
Rocket Dog Trackers from Schuh are as close as I've found so far. They sport a wide calf and those low buckles are just enough "moon-boot"/8o's style without over doing it. They come in black and brown and will remain on my wish list. These kicks have already been restocked once, so snap 'em up!

Next up are these basic versions of the iconic engineer boot from
OneStopPlus.com I received my pair in the mail this week and was surprised. My feet fit into the toe box but, alas, they didn't zip all the way up my calve. Can't beat the sale price of 25$, though.

Here is another.....I'm so excited about the collaboration between
Dr. Martens and Schuh! Fantastic! A little rock, a little roll, with a fine guarantee from a company I've worn(and worn out!) many times over.
